Fall is the perfect time to spend some quality time with your loved ones and enjoy the great outdoors. Keep these fall activities in mind when you’re looking to spend some time with your family.
While nobody likes the tedious task of raking up leaves in the fall, it can easily be turned into a fun, family activity. Gather all the rakes in your home and have everyone create their own piles of leaves. Not only will this help cut down the amount of time it will take to clean the yard, but it makes enough piles for everyone to jump in!
Color your sidewalk or driveway with colorful chalk. Have your children color a picture of their favorite fall activity, like a pumpkin or Thanksgiving dinner. You can ramp up your sidewalk coloring by mixing water, cornstarch, paint, and soap in a spray bottle to create spray paint art.
Feed the ducks in the area! If you have a local pond or lake, take some extra bread or chips down to the waterside! This can be a great learning opportunity to teach your children about ducks and nature.
Take a hike with the whole family. Bring a notebook to draw a picture of your favorite plants or take notes on your favorite parts of the hike. Make sure to stay on the trail so that you don’t disturb any animals.
Have a campfire in your own backyard. Invite all of your friends and family over to your campfire and roast hot dogs and s’mores. Plan your campfire around Halloween and tell your best scary story.
